Southampton’s Ocean Village Innovation Centre welcomes five new firms
Five new businesses have signed up for space at Ocean Village Innovation Centre (OVIC) in Southampton recently, with another two expanding their footprint.
The firms have taken almost 3,000 sq ft between them.
That includes 1,738 sq ft for Newsquest Media Group, 608 sq ft for mortgage recruitment specialist NRG Resourcing, and 324 sq ft for Maclean International Group, an electrical distributor.
Action24 Healthcare and Rheinmetall Electronics UK have also moved into the centre, while CB Media – the company behind job boards Yotspot and Villa Recruit – now occupies an additional 250 sq ft.
Stephen Deller, centre manager, said: “With these signings, we now have 46 companies based here at OVIC – 32 on site and 14 virtuals.
“Businesses are attracted to the flexibility of workspace, meaning they can increase or decrease office size depending on operational requirements, and the complimentary business support our centres provide.
“We’re currently providing regular business support to six companies, and 12 others have received further support this year in the form of general business support, investment, funding, grants, apprenticeships, HR and networking.”
With 30,000 sq ft of serviced offices and meeting rooms, OVIC is run by Oxford Innovation Space on behalf of the building’s private owner.
