Dyson to cut up to 1,000 jobs at Wiltshire HQ and beyond
Hundreds of jobs are to be cut at Dyson, the Financial Times has reported.
Headquartered in Malmesbury, Wiltshire and with offices in Bristol and London, the engineering giant employs 15,000 staff globally, including 3,500 in the UK.
“Dyson operates in increasingly fierce and competitive global markets, in which the pace of innovation and change is only accelerating,” explained chief executive Hanno Kirner.
“We know we always need to be entrepreneurial and agile.
“We have grown quickly and, like all companies, we review our global structures from time to time to ensure we are prepared for the future.”
Mr Kirner added that such decisions are ‘always incredibly painful’.
“Those whose roles are at risk of redundancy as a result of the proposals will be supported through the process.”
The news follows another job cut during the Covid-19 pandemic, when 900 staff were let go.
Dyson unveiled plans last May for a £100 million research and development hub in central Bristol to house hundreds of AI and software engineers.
