Chippenham's Good Energy offers EV drivers lowest off-peak rate

Good Energy Group, the Chippenham-headquartered renewable electricity supplier and energy services provider has launched a new electricity tariff for EV drivers, offering what it says is the lowest off-peak rate available on the market.

Good Energy EV Charge is fixed until September 2025, and offers five hours of off-peak charging between midnight and 5am for just 6.75p per kWh.

The off-peak rate encourages customers to charge at night when demand for electricity from the grid is lowest and is fully backed with power procured from its community of over 2,500 renewable generators.

Good Energy EV Charge is also offering customers a competitive peak rate through a premium subscription to its Zapmap app for public EV charging, helping drivers search, plan and pay for charging when they are on the go.

Luke Whitworth, Head of Pricing, Good Energy said: "We wanted to pull out the stops for customers with this tariff to make it as economical as possible to charge and drive an electric vehicle. Not only is it the cheapest off-peak rate on the market and a competitive peak rate, it's also the only EV tariff that comes bundled with a premium subscription to the UK's favourite public EV charging app."
