Reading’s Occuity achieves regulatory milestone for glaucoma device
Occuity, a Berkshire-based innovator in non-contact optical medical technology, has achieved CE marking for its PM1 Pachymeter device.
The PM1 can measure an eye’s corneal thickness in just a few seconds, allowing for easy, fast and safe diagnosis of glaucoma.
It’s the world’s first handheld, non-contact optical pachymeter.
CE marking is a safety standard from the European Union which Occuity says not only validates the safety, efficacy, and environmental standards of the PM1, but also accelerates its entry into the European market and beyond.
Having built a strong global distribution network, the company now plans to transition from product development to revenue generation and is “primed” to ship the PM1 to key markets.
Dr Dan Daly, CEO of Occuity, said: “Achieving CE marking is a pivotal moment for Occuity.
“It opens the door to new commercial opportunities and validates the hard work our team has put in.
“With the PM1 ready for market and a strong pipeline of products following closely behind, all built on an innovative platform that leverages Occuity’s groundbreaking optical technology, we’re poised for substantial future growth.”
Occuity is running a convertible loan note (CLN) round until 16 October, offering a “final window” for investors before the business enters full commercialisation.
