Busy opening week for Oxygen Reading activity park after £1m refurb
Oxygen Activeplay has officially opened the doors to its new Reading location following an extensive six-week refurbishment programme.
The activity park is home to 32 trampolines, parkour-style stunt areas, a wipe-out arena and a trapeze with a large airbag.
New attractions include the gauntlet run – an obstacle course where guests can compete against the clock in a series of challenges – and a toddler zone complete with mini trampolines and ball pit.
The on-site cafe has been upgraded, with a view overlooking the park for parents to keep an eye on their children.
Oxygen Reading also hosts twice-weekly ‘peaceful play’ sessions, designed for neurodivergent guests who prefer a calmer, quieter environment.
Roy and Hayley Atkinson, longtime fans of the venue previously operated by RedKangaroo, were invited along to cut the ribbon.
“The refurbished park is absolutely amazing,” they said.
“We couldn’t believe it was the same venue – the space feels so much more open and with an even wider range of things to do.
“The kids are already begging to come back.”
Stephen Wilson, CEO of Oxygen Activeplay, added: “The Atkinson Family have been coming to RedKangaroo for years, so we couldn’t wait to show them and all the other guests what we’d done with the place.
“Since we reopened, our amazing crew has been welcoming new and old guests into the park, and we’re already fully booked for birthday parties this weekend.
“We’re looking forward to introducing even more members of the community to Oxygen Activeplay.”
