Shaw Gibbs appoints new head of tax
Shaw Gibbs, the Oxford-based accountancy and business advisory firm, has appointed Naomi Stewart as head of tax.
Naomi joined the Shaw Gibbs group in April by way of a merger with Martin and Company, and is set to oversee tax services across all offices within the expanding practice.
A qualified chartered accountant and a chartered tax adviser, Naomi has more than 25 years of experience – including corporate tax advisory with a Big 4 practice and 14 years with Azets.
Her skill set lies in tax structuring, succession and M&A planning, R&D tax relief and share schemes. She has a particular interest in the property and construction sector.
Peter O’Connell, CEO of Shaw Gibbs, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Naomi to her new role as head of tax for the group.
“Naomi has played a key role in the success of the tax practice at Martin and Company, and we’re confident that she’ll bring her expertise, leadership and vision to the whole group.
“Appointing experts from our regional offices into leadership roles is very much part of our plan.
“Naomi’s appointment reflects our commitment to investing in people development and providing high-quality tax services to our clients across all our locations.”
Naomi added: “I’m honoured and excited to take on this new challenge.
“I look forward to working with the talented tax teams across the group and supporting our clients with their tax needs in a complex and dynamic environment.
“I’m also grateful for the opportunity to be part of the group’s strategic direction and growth.”
