Bicester-based Sky Wave Gin is launching a bold crowdfunding campaign to take the Oxfordshire premium spirits brand to new customers.

The distillery, which has won 39 global awards, is raising funds to design and produce a brand new, bepoke bottle, which, along with increased investment in sales and marketing, will propel Sky Wave Gin into brand new markets.

“The next stage on the Sky Wave Journey is to produce breath-catching bespoke packaging to reflect the quality of the liquids inside and stand out amongst the noise.  This packaging will transform the image of Sky Wave Gin; image and reputation will be aligned, and the subsequent growth will be remarkable.” Says Co-Founder and Master Distiller, Andrew Parsons.

“It is a truism that the first bottle is sold on the aesthetics of the packaging, whilst the second is sold on the quality of the liquid.  International judges continue to affirm the latter; it is now time to address the former.” He went on to say.

Sky Wave Gin’s crowdfunding campaign, with Seedr’s has been months in the planning.

“We’ve been a self-funded business for four years and now we’re excited to be inviting others to share in our journey.” says Co-Founder Rachel Hicks. “The industry is still seeing the gin market growing in Europe withincreasing demand for premium and super-premium gin products. So, we know our move into bespoke packaging is timed perfectly.” She said.

The art deco inspired bespoke bottle, designed by Launch Design, has a contemporary feel which reflects Sky Wave Gin’s spirit of adventure. “The 1920’s were a golden age of travel, and a period of adventure as people celebrated new found freedoms. Sky Wave Gin is borne of that same spirit. Andy and I have lived adventurous lives, bringing botanicals from our travels to the gins we created. And we hope to inspire our customers to plan their travel expeditions as they sip a Sky Wave Gin. The name derives from the seas we’ve sailed over and the skies we’ve flown through in pursuit of adventure.” Says Rachel.
