Oxford Business College hosts second national conference in London
Oxford Business College (OBC) held its second national conference at Heathrow Marriott in London recently, on the theme of ‘empowering the future’.
More than 150 members of college staff and academic guests from across the UK gathered for the two-day event.
Salman Haq, head of marketing at OBC, kicked off proceedings before handing over to managing director Dr Padmesh Gupta, who celebrated the college’s 40th anniversary.
A highlight from the two days was the announcement by Professor Sarwar Khawaja, chairman of the strategic board, that around 60 per cent of the event’s profits would be put towards philanthropic initiatives and welfare efforts, particularly focused on early medical diagnostics research and related practical measures.
Headed up by Professor Nick Petford, chair of the board of governors, the session included a strategic overview presented by Professor Fawad Inam, executive principal, who outlined OBC’s vision for excellence in business education.
The conference featured a presentation by Ronel Lehmann, founder of Finito, who discussed the critical role of supporting graduates in securing employment.
There were also talks on regulation and academic standards, course design and delivery, student support and success, and student engagement and empowerment throughout the two days.
